STE Helps Draft Three New Chinese Film Capacitor Standards

Three national standards developed with STE have been published

On August 28, 2026, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China issued a new group of national standards. Three were developed with Guangdong Songtian Electronic Industrial Co., Ltd. (STE) as a drafting organization and will take effect on March 1, 2027:

GB/T 6346.13—2026, Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment—Part 13: Sectional specification—Fixed polypropylene film dielectric metal foil DC capacitors. Identical adoption of IEC 60384-13:2020 (IDT).

GB/T 6346.16—2026, Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment—Part 16: Sectional specification—Fixed metallized polypropylene film dielectric DC capacitors. Modified adoption of IEC 60384-16:2019 (MOD).

GB/T 6346.17—2026, Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment—Part 17: Sectional specification—Fixed metallized polypropylene film dielectric AC and pulse capacitors. Modified adoption of IEC 60384-17:2019 (MOD).

The three standards fall under China’s National Technical Committee on Capacitors and Resistors for Electronic Equipment (SAC/TC 165). They comprehensively revise GB/T 10188—2013, GB/T 10190—2012 and GB/T 14579—2013, respectively, aligning China’s film capacitor standards framework with the corresponding IEC editions.

Participation in national standards development reflects industry recognition of STE’s technical expertise and product quality. STE has worked in film capacitors for many years, developing its own technologies and contributing to national standardization to support the industry’s continued progress.

STE will continue to use standards to guide its work and put quality at the center of its products and services, contributing to the international competitiveness of China’s electronic components industry.
