STE Capacitors and Varistors in Jackery and EcoFlow Power Stations
Original report
STE edition
A Chongdiantou report identifies STE safety capacitors, film capacitors and varistors in four portable power stations.
Chongdiantou's August 2025 report examines STE components reported in four portable power stations: Jackery 2000 Pro 2, EcoFlow RIVER 3, RIVER 3 Plus and DELTA Max 1600. It identifies several capacitor families and varistors, linking them to the publisher's earlier teardown coverage. The observations are useful as a component inventory; they do not demonstrate that a particular component causes the finished product's output capability or reliability.
Jackery 2000 Pro 2
The source describes a portable power station with a front display, lighting, USB-C and USB-A ports, a 12 V vehicle-style output and two Chinese AC outlet groups. It reports an AC output capability of 2200 W. The report concerns the Chinese-market 2000 Pro 2; no equivalence to another regional model is assumed.
Four STE capacitor families are identified:
| Reported family | What the source identifies |
|---|---|
| CE ceramic Y2 | Multiple blue Y capacitors assigned to the CE family |
| X2 | STE X2 safety capacitors |
| CBB21 | A film capacitor marked 2.2 µF, 630 V |
| CBB21B | Four boxed film capacitors described as a parallel resonant-capacitor arrangement |
The article describes CE devices as ceramic capacitors with flame-retardant epoxy encapsulation. Its X2 overview lists several AC voltage options. CBB21 and CBB21B are described as metallized polypropylene film families, with encapsulated and boxed constructions respectively. These family descriptions are separate from the exact identity and operating conditions of the observed parts.
EcoFlow RIVER 3
Chongdiantou describes the RIVER 3 as a 245 Wh lithium iron phosphate portable power station with a bidirectional inverter. The report lists 300 W charging and output capability, a 600 W operating claim under the product's load-support mode, solar or vehicle DC input, and a USB-C port supporting 100 W PD charging. The higher mode figure should not be read as an independently verified continuous output rating.
The reported STE components are a CBB21 film capacitor, a 2.2 µF X2 capacitor and a varistor marked 14D471K. The source assigns the varistor an overvoltage-surge protection role. Its marking is retained as observed identification rather than expanded into a full ordering code.
EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus
The RIVER 3 Plus is presented as a 600 W, 286 Wh portable power station. The source mentions a 1200 W X-Boost mode, USB-C and USB-A outputs, a 100 W USB-C output and a 12 V vehicle-style connection. These figures describe the equipment in the report and should not be conflated with component ratings.
Chongdiantou identifies a STE CBB21B boxed metallized polypropylene film capacitor with a capacitance of 2.2 µF. The report's broader CBB21B overview discusses low loss, self-healing behavior and insulation resistance, but does not provide a complete electrical or thermal operating profile for this installed part.
EcoFlow DELTA Max 1600
The report describes the DELTA Max 1600, referenced as EFD311, with a 1612 Wh lithium battery and 2000 W inverter output. It also lists an emergency power supply function with a stated 30 ms switchover, two 100 W USB-C ports and four USB-A ports.
At the input, the source identifies a STE varistor as 20D471K and describes its use for AC-input overvoltage protection. As with the RIVER 3 example, this observation does not supply the complete part specification or establish the system's surge-test performance.
Reading the component inventory
The four products span CE, X2, CBB21, CBB21B and varistor families. Varistors are protection resistors, not safety capacitors; this distinction corrects the source conclusion's grouping. The reported circuit roles and component markings remain attributed to Chongdiantou.
For component selection, confirm the exact variant, current specification, safety requirements and circuit conditions. The source's broad statements about approvals or harsh-environment reliability should not be applied to every component without that evidence. The original provides the underlying product-report links and additional coverage of STE SMD NTC, SMD MOV and surface-mount Y capacitors.

The following figures retain their original captions, markings and historical context. Transcribed tables present the values shown in the published images; product selection should use the specifications for the selected part.
