STE has introduced the CY, CE and MPY capacitor series for safety, interference suppression and demanding operating conditions in automotive electronics.
STE’s CY, CE and MPY safety capacitors address interference suppression in automotive electronics, including battery management systems (BMS), on-board chargers (OBC), DC-DC power supplies and charging stations.
Dielectric and safety class

Y-capacitor selection depends on insulation requirements, operating voltage, capacitance and allowable leakage current. Ceramic and film options differ in size, capacitance and temperature characteristics.

AEC-Q200 qualified part numbers are available. For an automotive design, review the chosen part’s qualification documents, approvals, temperature range and test conditions. IATF 16949 management-system certification and component qualification are separate requirements.
