STE Components in EcoFlow and Loncin Power Station Teardowns
Original report
STE edition
A February 2025 report identifies STE capacitors and varistors across four portable power station designs.
Chongdiantou's February 2025 report identified STE components in four portable power stations from EcoFlow and Loncin/EHOM. The observations span metallized film capacitors, safety ceramic capacitors and metal oxide varistors, showing several component families within power conversion assemblies.
The report provides a useful record of identified parts in particular products. It does not establish continuing use in every production revision or demonstrate that an individual component caused a system-level performance result.
EcoFlow RIVER 3
The source describes the RIVER 3 as a 245 Wh portable power station with 300 W charging and output capability, and a 100 W USB-C interface. It reports STE CBB21 film capacitors, an STE X2 capacitor identified as 2.2 µF, and a varistor marked 14D471K.
The CBB21 family is an epoxy-coated metallized polypropylene film capacitor family. The STE specification reviewed for this edition lists 0.01–3.3 µF and 100, 250, 400 and 630 VDC options. These are documented family choices; the source does not provide the full specification of every installed capacitor.
For the X2 device and varistor, the next design step is to resolve the observed identity to an exact part and its applicable limits. A capacitance value or short marking does not supply the whole component specification.
EcoFlow DELTA Max 1600
The article identifies this model as EFD311 and describes a 1612 Wh battery, 2000 W inverter output, EPS operation and two 100 W USB-C outputs. In its input section, the publisher reports an STE varistor identified as 20D471K for AC-input overvoltage protection.
That identification records the reported part and circuit role. Evaluating a similar protection function would additionally require the continuous voltage rating, clamping conditions, surge waveform, pulse count and coordination with the complete protection circuit.
Loncin EP1650-3
For the EP1650-3, the source lists a 1024 Wh lithium iron phosphate battery, 1200 W charging input and 1650 W inverter output. It reports another varistor identified as 20D471K and a blue STE CE-series safety capacitor marked CE102M.
The CE observation should be tied to the specific safety capacitor option. The original article gives several AC and DC voltages while describing the family; those numbers must not be combined into a single installed-part rating. Safety class, approval and circuit connection remain part-specific.
EHOM EP600-2
The fourth product is described as a 512 Wh power station with 600 W inverter output and a 1200 W peak-output figure. Chongdiantou reports an STE CL21X capacitor identified as 0.4 µF, 100 V, and a blue STE CD-series capacitor marked CD222M.
STE's CL21X family uses metallized polyester film. The reviewed general specification lists 0.01–1.0 µF with 50, 63 and 100 VDC options. The report calls the observed component a resonant capacitor; that is the publisher's circuit interpretation and should be checked against the actual connections before a new design follows it.
What the four cases establish
| Reported product | STE identifications |
|---|---|
| RIVER 3 | CBB21, X2, 14D471K |
| DELTA Max 1600, EFD311 | 20D471K |
| EP1650-3 | 20D471K, CE102M |
| EP600-2 | CL21X, CD222M |
The cases illustrate the variety of component functions investigated in portable power stations. They provide starting points for specification review, not a cross reference or proof of suitability for another design. Obtain the complete part identification, then compare the electrical, thermal and mechanical requirements of the intended circuit.
The source also included company background and an invitation to the spring 2025 Asia Charging Expo. Those details describe the reporting period. Current company information uses the name Guangdong Songtian Electronic Industrial Co., Ltd.
