### Selection guide

Define the safety position and the automotive mission profile first. Then specify one G-suffix part number whose AEC-Q200 report, safety approvals, voltage, capacitance, body, current and thermal limits, packing and process all match the application.

1. **Confirm the X2 circuit position**
Use only line to line (across the line) where Class X2 meets the equipment standard, nominal voltage, installation category and surge environment. Do not use this series as a Y capacitor or insulation barrier.
2. **Confirm the automotive qualification**
Request the AEC-Q200 Rev E qualification report for the selected part number, with qualified part numbers, temperature grade, manufacturing site, test lots and results, and the change and requalification record.
3. **Set voltage, capacitance and mission profile**
Select the voltage, capacitance and body, and model AC frequency, harmonics, repetitive pulses, hot spot, ambient temperature and humidity, duty cycle, vibration and required lifetime. dV/dt, current and thermal limits on request.
4. **Specify part number, approvals and construction**
Specify the complete part number, including the G suffix, marking, approved construction, dimensions, lead form, packing and material codes.
5. **Validate the assembly and end equipment**
Validate the PP/PE soldering limits, board profile, hand rework, cleaning and coating, vibration, biased humidity, endurance, surge and impulse, and end-of-life behavior in the final enclosure and safety file.

### Approvals & reliability

#### Approvals & qualifications

Safety approvals: IEC 60384-14 (UL, VDE/ENEC, CQC, KC). Automotive qualification: AEC-Q200. Approval and AEC-Q200 coverage of individual G-suffix part numbers on request.

| Agency | Standard | Certificate | Scope |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| cRUus UL | UL 60384-14 | E208107 | 0.001–10 µF, 275–350 VAC. |
| VDE, ENEC10 VDE / ENEC10 | EN 60384-14:2017 | 40034679 | 0.001–10 µF, 275–350 VAC. |
| CQC CQC | GB/T 6346.14-2023 | CQC19001213200 | 0.001–10 µF, 275–350 VAC. |
| KC KC | K 60384 | SU03031 family | Six certificates divide the range up to 10 µF by capacitance band. |

Each certificate covers the types and ratings listed on it.

#### Reliability tests

Initial electrical limits, AEC-Q200 Rev E qualification and a temperature-cycling test (1,000 cycles, −55 °C to +110 °C) are specified. The qualification report and humidity, endurance, current and thermal data are available on request.

| Test | Condition | Acceptance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Temperature cycling | 1,000 cycles, −55 °C to +110 °C | Dwell time, sample size and post-test ΔC, tan δ, IR and voltage-proof limits on request |

### Design notes

#### Qualify the exact G-suffix part number

AEC-Q200 qualification does not transfer to every similar MPX part. Tie the BOM part number to the qualification report, similarity rationale, manufacturing site, construction, safety approvals and change record.

#### Keep X2 in the correct safety position

Use across line conductors for differential-mode suppression where the equipment standard accepts X2. It is not suitable as a Y capacitor, line-to-earth component or reinforced-insulation barrier.

#### AEC-Q200 and IEC approval are separate

AEC-Q200 stress qualification does not replace IEC 60384-14 safety approval, and an X2 certificate does not cover the automotive mission profile. Check both scopes for the selected part.

#### Design for the actual electrical stress

Rated VAC alone does not establish dV/dt, RMS or peak current, harmonic heating, repetitive surge, hot spot or service life. Obtain part-specific curves and validate the final enclosure across ambient temperature, humidity and duty cycle.

#### Mechanics and assembly

Check the pitch code, tape geometry, lead form and PP/PE soldering limits of the selected part number. Support large, heavy parts against vibration. Do not reflow-solder; validate soldering, cleaning, coating, storage and traceability.
